What they do is who they are...

After several years guiding, in 1988, Lorne, Sharmane Hindbo and family bought Bighorn Sheep permits in WMU #422 and became South Ram Outfitters. The experiences and stories are a privelege in an outfitters camp and there are many more to come. In 1996, Lorne and Sharmane bought the Whiterabbit WMU permits along with the trailriding business on the North Ram River. In 2010 the Sheep Hunting business was sold. Moose, deer, cougar and wolf hunts are still offered as these outfitters continue to guide in style. Be sure to check out the Hunting pages on the site and consider a hunt.

The Trail Riding operation is known as Ram River Horseback Tours or simply RAM RIDES. The Hindbo crew bring familiarity and trust to the forefront of Alberta Trail Riding. Ram Rides specialize in family and group trips that encourage the rider to partner with their horse as the adventure draws the rider closer to nature renewing appreciation of stewardship and sustainability in Alberta's high country.

As Ranchers and Outfitters, the Hindbo horses are key and this string work well wherever or whatever needs to be done. Raising their own Ranch/Mountain horses, a cow/calf operation and now 100 head of sheep keep chores on the ranch interesting.

As outdoorsmen and women, the Hindbos dogs; Australian Shepherd or Plott hounds, are instrumental to the operation. The dogs are also in their six and seventh generations of home raised. Check the Ranch pages for updates and information on the horses and dogs that may be for sale.

Lorne and Sharmane realize the worth in sharing what blesses them. Their life and God enables them to remember their humanity and solidarity with all others, in any walk of life.

So, if you are interested in Trailrides, Packtrips, Kids Camp, Hunting Trips, Ranch Chores, Cowhorse, Mountain horse, Plott hound or Cowdog, the Hindbos value the appeal to those drawn to these enthralling experiences.

Our summer bring a variety of activities, everything from Kids'n'Horses Camps, Packtrips into Alberta's high country, wedding celebrations and ranch activities. Summer-Alberta style.
