Sharmane &
South Ram Hanna Blue
We have owned purebred Australian Shepherds since 1989. Our
first litter was born in 1992 to Hanna Blue and Zephyr’s Boss
Man. Hanna, a little lady of character and class was a diligent
worker and a superior companion. Such a dog sets a high standard
for her offspring and other ranch dogs. She could stop Longhorn
bull in his tracks sending him humbly back down the road away
from the "spring cow" herd. Boss worked in a bull feedlot
everyday, rain, shine, snow or cold. Working conditions were
tough but Boss could hold his own. Garry Lewis, Boss's boss
would say that most days Boss beat him to work going across
country. Hard to find that kinda help!

Micah is a daughter of Boss & Hanna. Micah is
multi talented, singer, plays games, does tricks, maintains pest
control in camp and another superior stock dog. In the four
trials entered Micah has won:
- 2004 Australian Shepherd Assoc. of America Award of
Merit Started
- 2005 Australian Shepherd Assoc. of America Award of
Merit Open
- High Point for 2005

Micah has also achieved her Advanced Trial Dog in Cattle,
Open in Sheep and Ducks in only four trials with very little
trialing experience. I must admit that Micah does not have the
"orthodox" training as other trialers, she doesn't down but she
stays, her side commands are limited at best but... Micah does
handle her stock extremely well. Quiet, confident and very
obedient. She is a pleasure at home and in the ring. We
believe she is one for the finest females around!

SRO Buddy Boy DNA-CP OTDds ATDc

A few of the many faces of handsome &
talented Bud
SRO Buddy Boy joined the crew in 1999 and certainly added style,
strong herding ability and companionship. Bud and Micah share
the same strong working ability and have been complemented by
several judges on being biddable. Bud went missing in January of
2007. He is missed every day. He helped Josey win the Junior
Handler Award in 2003 in his supreme style with many first place
ribbons. He penned his sheep on his first attempt of open
trialing. Never have we worked with a dog that just knew where
to be and when to be there. We struggle through the chores now
without him and the cows have learned to take advantage of the
young dogs. Christmas without him in his red bandana is not the
same.
Bud achieved great things at the trials. Tough cattle or
sheep but he prevailed with high scores. We could tell that he
preferred to be at home though working in his own time not
running the weight off of the livestock. Bud worked at the
Auction Mart moving cattle from pen to pen to loading chute
never missing a beat. Long hours were no deterrent. He loved
working. He shone in the cow pasture at home and on the trail
and camps on bear patrol. We are keeping this line going with
pups from Bud and Micah, working them into the family of helpers
and herders.

Josey’s dog,
JH Happy Jack also won big at the Alberta Summer
Classic as he captured the Started High Point Title plus an
Australian Shepherd Association of America Merit Award. Josey
won her Junior Award of Merit. Jack has been “retired” to a
neighbor’s cow/calf operation. Other nearby ranchers benefit
from the sale as Jack willingly goes to help them if he has
nothing to do. He is called the community co-op dog.

This is only what’s on paper. What they do at home is of much
more value to us.
We endeavor to be responsible and credible dog owners. The
pups sell for $500 CD, all shots UTD, prefer working homes but
active homes also and if they don't work out for you we will
take them back. We believe this is the best guarantee possible.
We congratulate the South Ram dog owners and we love to hear
their stories. These dogs are becoming fast friends and helpers.
Watch for them in the trail rings, with a livestock herd, in the
mountains or agility ring. You will remember them!
New to the Aussie pack is Starstuff Gitem Gus from Mark &
Beckie Bailie and Mikatura Calamity Jeni from Foss & Jeni
Gallichan of Mikatura Stockdogs. South Ram Sara Blue is the new girl from Bud and
Micah and she is proving to be loyal with a strong herding
instinct plus being beautiful.
